Award-winning musician and businessman, DJ Tira, told Ngizwe Mchunu where to get off in full view of his fans at an event over the weekend. Born Mthokozisi Khathi, Tira came out guns blazing against Ngizwe after the former Ukhozi FM presenter called him names on a social media post last month.

NGIZWE ATTACKED FIRST

Ngizwe, who was fired from Ukhozi FM where he made a name for himself a couple of years ago, has been attacking DJ Tira on his social media. In one of the videos, Ngizwe claimed that DJ Tira failed to keep the legacy of the late Gqom artist, Mampintsha and that his alcohol range was not appealing. In the video he posted on TikTok, after the Metro FM Music Awards last month, Ngizwe ranted: "Makoya Bearings (DJ Tira) I am highly disappointed in you. You and that pi*s-tasting drink of yours that you give us to drink. DJ Tira you are out of order, you were supposed to do what you promised Mampintsha at his funeral. You donated your Song Of The Year award to Mampintsha. DJ Tira, you are cruel. You should accept when you have failed. This thing of you taking drugs is affecting you. You were supposed to do what you said you would at Mampintsha’s funeral. But you have not because you are a dog. You have a case in heaven. You are full of rubbish. I am not afraid of you. You are bulls*it."

NOT A WALK OVER ANYMORE

DJ Tira got a chance to give Ngizwe a piece of his mind over the weekend where they were booked to perform at the same gig in Port Sheptsone. After Ngizwe had introduced DJ Tira on stage at the June 16 event, he told him where to get off in front of the confused crowd. "You have to apologise to me for the sh*t you said about me... I love money and my cider is doing well now he is acting like he is doing me a favour, trying to hype me," Tira said, referring to Ngizwe. "If you talk sh**, I will tell you directly that you talk sh*t, I am not scared of you..." The fans started cheering before the deejay performed.

SETTING THE RECORD STRAIGHT

DJ Tira has set the record straight saying he is tired of Ngizwe stabbing him in the back and then pretending as if he likes him when they meet at gigs. Speaking to Zimoja, DJ Tira said: "Many people don’t know the context of the video made by Ngizwe. At the gig, I was not insulting the crowd, but Ngizwe for insulting me first." DJ Tira said he is open to criticism. "I respect people’s opinions and choices, but I will never force anyone to support my business. The same applies to me... I will never be angry with someone who speaks publicly about me, but don’t pretend you like me when you see me," Tira said. He said he was taken aback when all of a sudden, Ngizwe saw him and pretended as if they were cool. DJ Tira said he does not have time for people who want to accumulate likes and followers on social media using his name. "I have been in the industry for many years and I don’t have time for clout chasers," he added. Meanwhile, Ngizwe faces charges of inciting public violence and violating the Disaster Management Act. He is one of the alleged instigators of the July 2021 unrest.
