"I was once called barren"

DJ Lamiez Holworthy celebrating her son's first birthday

Even the most famous are not safe when it comes to social media bullying. DJ Lamiez Holworthy opened up about how she was called names before falling pregnant. The mother of one shared this as her son Leano celebrated his first birthday yesterday.

SHE WAS ONCE CALLED BARREN

She revealed that she almost thought she would never have a baby and people would often hate on her and call her names. The popular DJ who is married to rapper and businessman Khuli Chana was blessed with a baby boy on 12 March last year after many years of trying. Khuli has two other kids from a previous relationship and Lamiez has also embraced them although social media trolls would often remind her that she was not their mother. Finally addressing the trolls, Lamiez said: "I been a victim of insensitive haters who would often say the most outrageous things without considering my feelings. One comment that particularly hurt me was made by one of my followers who called me barren. This shows how insensitive, vile and downright people can be," she said.

THE BABY THAT GAVE HER DIGNITY

In a post on social media, the DJ wrote a message thanking God for her son. "And just like, that-it's been a whole year since I met the biggest piece of my heart. My son. Ngwana o waka Omphile Serithi. (the baby that gave me dignity) Ke Lehumo laka. Proof that God exists. Proof that Badimo ba rona ba nale maatla (proof that our ancestors are powerful). I have no words. Well at least not enough to express my love. God lives!!! Modimo o teng-Ke bona ka Leano

(God does exist and Leano is proof of that)," she wrote.

NOT EVERYONE WANTS TO BE A MOTHER

She believes that people need to understand two things. "First, not everyone can have children, despite how hard they try. Both women and men struggle with fertility, and it is the most painful of experiences. Second, not everyone wants to be a mother, and that's perfectly okay," Finally, DJ Lamiez says she believes that God is the one who gives life, and that everyone should always be grateful for His blessings. Recently, she trended after ZiMoja revealed that her biological father is none other than legendary producer and singer Sello Chicco Twala. According to a source close to the family, Lamiez and Chicco are in very good space and Twala has been trying his best as both the father and grandfather. The source adds that Twala has started teaching the little man how to speak Tsonga. "It is such a beautiful thing to witness, Lamiez's is a beautiful girl both inside and out she deserves all the good things coming her way, she gives a lot to the needy and still supports her family. What a germ they lucky to have each other," adds the source.
