An employee of Sibanye-Stillwater who was arrested for killing his colleague is expected to appear at the Westonaria Magistrates Court tomorrow
In a video and images that widely circulated on social media, the suspect is seen repeatedly stabbing the deceased even though there are people in the background begging him to stop.
The brutal act apparently happened outside of their mining quarters in Westonaria where the two men lived.
It didn?t end there, after the incident the suspect took pictures next to the lifeless body of the man whose intestines were hanging outside his body.
Police spokesperson Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi said officers were gathering evidence to establish the motive for the attack.
"A case of murder has been opened for further investigation."
Sibanye-Stillwater confirmed that the two men were their employees but have distanced themselves from the gruesome incident.
Sibanye-Stillwater spokesperson James Wellsted confirmed that the two men are employees at the mining company.
?I can just confirm that they are our employees. It was outside of our operations but it has nothing to do with the company. It was a personal matter between two people who work there."
