He was recently baptised and accepted Jesus as his saviour. Rapper Cassper Nyovest, real name Refilwe Phoolo has revealed that the reason for being baptised was his saving grace as he felt his life was on the decline due to his love for women and sex.

SEX ADDICTION

Cassper says his addiction ruined his relationship with the mother of his child. Thobeka Majozi who gave birth to their child in 2020. "I created a serious mess," he said. "I hurt my baby mama so much. We broke up." Cassper says he has been single for two years. "God was showing me that I was destroying myself with sexual relationships. You're having difficulties with women because you only see one thing. I was addicted to sex. I was addicted to sexual immorality in general. Sex was my master. It used to tell me what to do and where to go, " he said. "I had such a big ego, and I thought I was better than everyone else. But I was humble in the sense that I wouldn't offend anyone. I was a good person. I was headed straight for hell." He said money controlled his life and with money he controlled women.

DEPRESSION

Last year, Cassper went through depression despite having everything he wanted; success, a son, money, and friends around him. "I would struggle to sleep, and I went to hospital and diagnosed me with depression. They gave me a pill to make me feel better for a few hours." He decided to go to church and got a "blunt and boring" answer. "We were created to worship God. That is the answer I got." Since then, he has turned his life around after he was baptised in the new year. "I realised that this is what was missing in my life. I had an encounter with God, and he put me in a place that only he could save me."
