Media personality, Bonang Matheba, who was billed as the new star to join the show, has already left. The self-titled ‘Queen B’ has already sparked controversy about why she left and sets the record straight on why she made an exit as dramatic as her entrance.

RUMOURS

Speculation is rife that she left the show because of the "power struggles, different egos from fellow cast members and rumours that could have potentially tainted her brand". According to the award-winning host, her contract was short. She didn’t leave due to conflict with other cast members, especially Luis whom confronted over a past event she attended, organised by Luis, but was not offered accommodation. Social media users were looking forward to her encounter with her former BBF rapper Nadia Nakai, who dated her ex-lover and late rapper Kiernan "AKA" Forbes, but that did not see the light of day.

"I didn’t just leave the show," she tells ZiMoja. "I was just a guest star and not a permanent cast member. My job was to be in and out."

WINNING AGAINST CSA

Bonang also speaks about her latest victory after almost two years of an ongoing legal battle with her former management Celebrity Services Africa (CSA) Global. The two parties finally settled their legal dispute about the Method Cap Classique (MCC) brand House of BNG which they felt "entitled to." The long-standing dispute with House of BNG brand has been settled. The former Live Amp presenter says she is over the moon about the win especially because the case had been dragging. "Yes! I’m very happy about the win. It’s been a long and uncomfortable battle but we prevailed." Bonang says she does not doubt that her supporters will take her business and brand to greater heights through their support.

LOVING THE B-FORCE

Bonang also acknowledges her supporters, The B-force who have stuck by her since her first TV debut. "I’ll continue building this amazing brand with the help of my supporters who’ve stuck by me through every step," she says. "It means BNG has some incredible plans for the future - new brand experiences and products." The multi-talented personality says she does not. "put her eggs in one basket." Her YouTube channel B’Dazzled has also reached 50k subscribers with only three video uploads. "My online show is doing well. We launched episode two on Tuesday. I recently arrived from New York and counting down to the launch of my Bonang x Steve Madden collaboration in Summer 2023."
