They are shattered after the passing of their beloved mother last week. Influencer twins Blue, real name Thandi, and Brown Mbombo, real name Thandiwe, have held off all plans and work-related projects to focus on their grief.
MOURNING
Blue was booked to attend the Subaru Celebrity Drive in Sun City but could not make it after the news of her mom's passing. She was also meant to appear at Omuhle Gela's Moms' Day Off luncheon on Saturday. A close friend told ZiMoja that the twins are not taking the news well. "Both Blue and Brown are not okay. Their mom meant everything to them. They lived to please her and her passing has been hard to accept." The friend said they are currently making arrangements for the funeral. "We can't share details but the girls are not doing okay."
DOING IT FOR MOM
In 2016, Blue and Brown built their mom a home. Blue showed off the new house and shared the journey that led up to the completion. In a social media post then, she said: "Two years ago, Brown and I took a leap of faith. I was just a final-year student and I worked as a hostess at a nightclub‚ did PR for small companies and of course modelling. I saved up every cent. People called us names; we were known as those beautiful girls 'ba dulang mokhukhung' (who stay in a shack) but we still worked hard in silence and trusted in no one but God. Some said, how did ya'll do it? Some said that house looks like an RDP house, but guess what? It's a dream come true to us because we never had it and also because we had done it ourselves." she shared. In 2021, they surprised their mom with a special performance by gospel singer Dr Rebecca Malope at her 55th birthday bash attended by close friends and family. "I am heartbroken," Blue said. She told ZiMoja that she is not ready to talk about her loss. "It's too soon. It's not a good time. We are still processing the news."
