Blacked out, robbed and missing

Bubbly Sodela cannot recall what happened

Businesswoman and reality TV star Noluvuyo 'Bubbly' Sodela had been missing for a day when her family went to file a missing person case with the Humewood police station in Gqeberha.

NO RECOLLECTION

This Body Works For Me reality show star does not recall what happened to her and says she must have blacked out but she suspects several crimes had been committed. "I have an idea who did this is to me but I can't say," she tells ZiMoja. "I am still in a state of shock. I am scared and hate the fact that I do not know where I was and what happened to me." Based in Ggeberha, in the Eastern Cape, Bubbly recalls getting ready for work at her Bubblybling Concepts Wellness Spa but says the rest is a blur. "I don't remember much. I think someone might have used something to spike me, I don't know but I lost consciousness and my phone, along with my other valuables, were stolen," she says. After her family struggled to reach her, they opened a missing persons case. "I don't know what to say. Right now, I am getting some help, so I can be able to tell the story better. I am just grateful that my family was able to locate me."

MENTAL WELLNESS

Last year, Bubbly spoke to ZiMoja about her struggle with mental wellness and her calling to be a sangoma. She found herself in a hospital bed in a psychiatric hospital after a mental breakdown. "I cried, screamed and could't breathe. I lost my mind for a good three days and had to get medical attention," she told ZiMoja. "I managed to call a friend for help, she picked me up by the petrol station and took me to the police station and we went to the hospital," Bubbly said at the time. Medical staff helped to calm her down and gave her Risperidone, a medication used to treat symptoms of schizophrenia, unusual thinking, and depression.

GRATITUDE

She never expected something of this sort to happen. "Everything was going well. I was in the right headspace, but this happened and just threw me off. But I am back at work and police will be assisting me in opening a case." Bubbly is grateful to the Humewood Police in Gqeberha. "I am grateful to Captain Thembani and Mtaba, Sergeant Andrews, for recovering one of my lost possessions and assisting my family. The entire thing has been draining and a long traumatic process. But I am glad to be safe. They will help me to get to the bottom of what happened and I will be able to share, right now I am still in shock."
