A 34-year-old man has been arrested for kidnapping and attempting to murder of his ex-girlfriend. The incident took place last week between Praktiseer and Makofane, Limpopo.

LURED TO DANGER

Provincial SAPS spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba said the 27-year-old victim was preparing to go to work at home when the ex-boyfriend offered to take her there. He said the suspect arrived, driving in a white bakkie. "He invited her to drive with him to Makofane village, where he resides first. They then drove together on condition that the suspect would drop her off at Praktiseer as she was going to work. It is alleged that the suspect drove past Praktiseer and took a route going to Mabocha village. " Ledwaba said.

HE THREATENED TO KILL HER

It is alleged that a heated argument ensued between the two and in the process, the driver, who is the suspect, threatened to kill the victim. Ledwaba said the suspect allegedly opened the door of the moving vehicle and pushed the victim out of the vehicle and left her. "He noticed that the victim was still moving and requesting assistance from other motorists. It is reported the suspect reversed the vehicle and knocked the victim on the ground and put her at the back of the bakkie. The victim after some time gained consciousness and found herself at the back of the suspect's bakkie at Ga-Makofane. She managed to escape and was later admitted to hospital," said Ledwaba. He said a case of attempted murder and kidnapping is under police investigation and the suspect appeared before Praktiseer Magistrate's Court last week Thursday. His matter was postponed to this Thursday for the purpose of getting a legal representative.
