Cele threatens to spill the beans on JZ if he expose ANC members' shenanigans

Former President Jacob Zuma and Minister of Police Bheki Cele in a war of words

African National Congress (ANC) National Working Committee member Bheki Cele has threatened to spill the beans on former President Jacob Zuma if he dares speak about the shenanigans of some of the party's members. Cele said this during while engaging with structures of the ANC in the eThekwini Region on Thursday.

NOT SEEING EYE TO EYE

Cele, who is the Minister of Police, became political enemies with Zuma after he reshuffled him from the same position in 2012 when he was still the president. The bashing of Zuma comes after he announced, in December, that he will not be campaigning and voting for the ANC, led by current leader Cyril Ramaphosa. Zuma surprised many people when he announced the newly formed Umkhonto WeSizwe Party (MK) to contest in the upcoming national elections. During the ANC's structured engagement, Bheki Mtolo, who is the ANC KZN secretary-general, was the first to take a swipe at Zuma accusing him of trying to fool party members. "There are people who go around forming other parties and campaigning for them and still call themselves ANC members. You cannot call yourself an ANC member when you are campaigning for another organisation. We will never play in your gallery. They want us to fire them where else in reality they are the ones who have left us," Mtolo said, adding that the late ANC leader Harry Gwala used to say some people are not afraid of exiting the door backwards thinking that we don't see that they are leaving. " Those people want us to believe that they are still with us, yet they have publicly formed a new party. We see through them and there are many of them that are with us," he added.

EMPTY THREATS

Cele warned Zuma not to intimidate ANC leaders. "Zuma has been threatening us for years now, he must come out and speak. We are sick and tired of his threats. If he dares try to speak out, we will also reveal things about him. When we were in exile, JZ was my commander, he was the one who was briefing us about everything. It is worrying that the man who has been in the ANC top six all his life is now turning his back against the same ANC that has been carrying him his entire life," Cele said. He added," You can't be outside and still go around telling us that you are still with us when you are preaching that people must abandon the ANC, it can't be," said. Cele further said that the ANC does not belong to an individual. "This is the organisation of the masses. The ANC belongs to the millions of its members. No one is above it; he thinks that he is the Samson of the ANC, well he is not. If the opportunity arises, I want to ask JZ what went wrong, that's if that opportunity will ever come because it seems as if he has already left us. Comrades I urge you to focus on the upcoming elections which we will win with margins. Before I sit down. I want you to know that there shall be no South African without the ANC," he said.
