A bereaved family was robbed of money and jewellery by three women while they were preparing to bury their loved one. The incident happened in Sanford, Phoenix, outside Durban, KwaZulu Natal on Wednesday.
THE ROBBERY
It's alleged that three women dressed in black and carrying Bibles, gained entry to the house under the pretence of offering condolences. According to reports, the grieving family welcomed the women into their home, but it turned out that the woman had not come to offer prayers or condolences but to rob them. It is alleged that soon after being welcomed, the women pulled out guns, tied the three relatives' hands behind their backs, and locked them in one room. They proceeded to steal and rob the house before fleeing. It's not known if the women fled on foot or a car.
