Bafana Bafana beat Democratic Republic Congo 6-5 on penalties in the tournament in the third-place play-off on Saturday night. Captain and goalkeeper Ronwen Williams became the hero of the day after saving two penalties during the shootout. This was the second time that Williams became the hero after he saved penalties during shootout when the team was playing in the quarter-finals. Williams saved the final kick from DRC's Meschak Elia during sudden death to win the match for Mzansi.
