Over a week ago, he shared a video on social media where he was recording a song with Babes Wodumo, saying he was doing it to revive her career. "She is coming back," he wrote and tagged Babes. It has since emerged that there is a dispute over the song between DJ Kotini and Babes Wodumo and it's getting serious.

SHE WANTS TO KEEP THE SONG

Sources close to the situation told ZiMoja that Babes is refusing to let go of the song for official release.According to sources, DJ Kotini approached Babes to be featured, including another artist, Madanon, on the song tittled Nzo Nzo Nzo. The source said the problem started when Babes and her recoding company became "greedy" after they heard the song has the potential to be a summer hit and decided they would keep it. "They changed their mind during the listening session and decided that they wanted to keep the song," said the informant. The source added that Kotini is the one who arranged and paid for the studio session and asked Babes for a feature. According to the source in the circle of these artists, this dilly dallying by Babes has messed with DJ Kotini's plans as he wanted to release his album for the festive season.

HE IS FRUSTRATED

The source said, "DJ Kotini is frustrated because he wants to plan his holiday now but Babes is being difficult.". According to another source, DJ Kotini even suggested that they release the song as a group, but Babes won't budge. DJ Kotini said it is his song and Babes was only featured on the track. He said: "That is my song and she knows that." He also told Zimoja that he would be dropping his single towards the end of September. "The song you referring to will only come out on the full album," he said. Babes Wodumo said she will talk when the time is right on the matter. "I have nothing to say for now," she said.
