MAKING MUSIC

Ngweti's mother and gospel podcaster Ayanda announced the news of her son's first project. "Today marks one of the most important days in my career as a Music Executive,' she says. "Mak, you know him as Ngcweti Ncwane now Mak Ncwane, the first non-gospel artist to be released under Ncwane Communications.' Ayanda adds that the project is available for streaming "All we can say is that the baton has been officially released from the father to the son! Mak's EP is officially out today on all platforms.'

TAKING AFTER DAD

Born in Mthwalume, Sfiso started making music at a young age and dropped out of primary school and attended singing competitions. Sfiso was raised by his aunt from when he was just two weeks old after his mother left him and could not afford to raise him. He started singing at eight years old. His talent for singing was discovered by the local church. When he reached 10, he began singing isicathamiya and gospel songs and learned to play the keyboard, bass guitar, and drums without any formal training. This led to him being invited to perform at weddings, local churches, parties, and funerals. He recorded his professional debut album, Makadunyiswe, in 2001, with Bula Music, which was produced by Tshepo Ndzimande and from there became a soaring success.
