The real reasons which led to the fallout between Zulu King Misuzulu kaZwelithini and his fired former royal family spokesperson, Prince Zulu, has since been uncovered.
The Zulu Royal House spokesperson position has since been awarded to the Zululand District Mayor Dr Thulasizwe Buthelezi who is doubling up as the Ingonyama Trust Chairperson.
Shortly after his dismissal from the position two months ago, Afrika called a media briefing where spoke ill of Buthelezi calling him a well known criminal and an outsider who didn't deserve to be appointed to such positions. Zimoja has since established that Afrika was fired from his position after he visited United States of America (USA) and impersonated the Zulu King while he was fundraising for him. It is alleged that Afrika and his representatives tried to lure business people from the USA to inject money into the Ingonyama Trust late last year. "Misuzulu became very angry at Afrika for traveling abroad and impersonating him. That is why Misuzulu made it clear that he must never in future try to chair or speak on behalf of the Zulu royal family," the source said.
Another source said that Misuzulu has since instructed all the people that are close to him to close ranks and block all communications with Afrika. "There is an ongoing instruction from the King, where he has told people to cut ties with Afrika. He has instructed all the people that used to communicate with Afrika on his behalf to block him everywhere. Afrika is on his own. It was a wrong move and it was greed that landed him in hot water with Misuzulu. He failed to respect the boundaries between his job and their relationship. Afrika thought that Misuzulu was too busy to see what he was doing behind his back. Well some people decided to make the king aware and he fired him just like that. Afrika thought he was untouchable and that he was irreplaceable with everything that is happening in the royal house," another source added.
When Afrika was contacted for comment, he said: "Bayangihlanyela" (they are crazy). The same people who plotted my removal as the spokesperson are now going around speaking ill of me. I was not getting anything by being a spokesperson of the royal family. I was doing it because this is a family thing. Now there is this cabal which is led by the Mpumalanga businessman Jacob Mnisi. They want to enrich themselves and they want us out from the royal family. I served my king very well and when I left I made sure that me and him were in good terms. The problem is that Mnisi guy and his cabal." he said.
