She recently launched her album titled From My Soul to Yours, at a restaurant in Sandton, Johannesburg. She arrived at the intimate gathering in a yellow-flowing two-piece, which raised a lot of suspicion around her belly. Seeming heavily pregnant, singer and songwriter Amanda Black did not touch on the matter but hinted at a new chapter in her life. "I'm in a new chapter of my life. A very interesting one," she said, adding that "It's been quite a journey getting here. Man, it's been tough. There's been a lot of fights, and tears but we are here." During her launch, she also spoke about how tough it has been making her project and constantly fighting with her team, without mentioning the pregnancy. Close acquaintances have since confirmed to ZiMoja that Amanda Black is expecting her first child.

EXPECTING

A confrère to the Bettur singer couldn't be more sure that Amanda is indeed expecting and she is already showing. "She is definitely pregnant and in the second trimester. Everyone can see the baby bump. It's impossible to hide at this stage," the acquaintance says. "A pregnancy is not really something you can hide for too long. But also, she is not really hiding it, because her tummy is big, she is showing but no one has had the guts to ask her whether it's just a beer belly or what?

NOT AN EASY ONE

Another music industry friend says this will be Amanda's first baby and it hasn't been an easy pregnancy for her. "She was still working on her album in the first trimester, morning sicknesses, the works. So, it was tough for her," says the friend. "It was a stretch getting to the end of her album, even at the listening session, she was tired but she pushed. Her team tucks by her despite the emotions. She is somehow happy and ready to be a mom."

MOM TO BE

When her management company at Sony was asked about the mum-to-be, they refused to comment. "We don't really deal with people's personal relations on that level, especially something of the sort. We are in the business of music. Whether she is or isn't, she would need to answer those types of questions." Amanda was not available to comment at the time of publishing.
