Afrotainment musician and producer, Prince Bulo has been accused of swindling his ex-girlfriend of more than R28 000 in cash. His livid girlfriend, Sinethemba Mbuyazi, a chef based in America says he wants him to pay back the money she borrowed him while things were rosy between them.
SHE MEANS BUSINESS
To show the seriousness of the issue, Sinethemba even enlisted the services of Baleni Attorneys Incorporated. In a letter of demand sent to Prince Bulo on August 30, it stated, "We are advised that you are indebted to our client for an amount totalling R22 628.90, being in respect of several loan agreements between yourself and our client. We are advised that you have failed or ignored requests to make payment. Despite our client reaching out to you on several times through messages sent to you via WhatsApp, We are therefore left with no other choice but to demand, as we hereby do, that you make payment of the amount due and payment of R22 628,9, within 14 days. Should you fail to make payment within 14 days, we hold instructions to commence legal proceedings against you, without further notice, to recover the full amount, together with interest and costs from date of demand," the letter reads. According to Sinethemba, Bulo owes her more than R22 000. "I also loaned him R6 500 when he said he wanted financial help, to avoid being evicted from his flat," she said. When the matter was escalated to Bulo’s boss, DJ Tira, by one of Sinethemba’s friends, he asked what does his company, Afrotainment, have to do with Bulo’s private life. To date, Bulo has not paid the money back.
THEY MET ON SOCIAL MEDIA
Sinethemba says they met via social media after Bulo had commented on her cooking page. The 25-year-old says after the comment, Bulo went onto her DM and the two quicklime exchange numbers. "It was good at first, we would chat and he would ask about my day- I guess he was still marinating me," she says, adding that soon after that, he started sharing his personal problems such as losing his car and not having money for food and toiletries. "Suddenly he was behind with his rent and about to be kicked out of his place, as a girlfriend in-love I agreed to help." Sinethemba says she had no issue helping her boyfriend, but it was becoming a habit. "He would lie about things like geyser being broken and that he needed help," she said. Sinethemba added that when she came back to Mzansi to visit last year December, he would demand to see her and make her pay for everything during their outings.
"I was paying for his toiletries, groceries and things like electricity. He even took my iPhone saying that he can’t afford a good phone since I am based in the US, I must give him mine," she says. She says after posting about her ordeal on social media, other girls started coming forward with similar stories. "While other men are at work, he is working us girls, I want to teach him a lesson. I want money and I don’t care how small it is. He is nothing but a gold digger and player," When called for comment, Bulo refused to comment, instead he dropped the phone.
