Actress Jessica Nkosi is livid. This is after she became aware of an imposter using her name to bash celebrities and to spread fake news on social media.

SHE TRIED TO REPORT THE FAKE ACCOUNT

Speaking to ZiMoja, Nkosi says she doesn’t have a Facebook and is aware of the account using her name but there is nothing she can do from her side. She says she is frustrated because she tried on numerous occasions to report it but she did not get help. "I have been trying to report this account for years now and I am not winning because Facebook won’t help me, " she explains. The former Sibaya actress says efforts to shut down the account drew a blank. She told ZiMoja that even her associates tried to report the account but it was impossible. "Still there was no help, I don’t understand why anyone would use my name to bash industry colleagues just for likes and clout," she said adding that it is out of her character to be nasty and mean to people. "I don’t bash people and will never do that, that’s not who I am and a lot of people know that," she adds.

SHARING INSENSITIVE POSTS

The Facebook account called Jessica Nkosi-Queen Qondi Isibaya was created a few years ago and has been posting and sharing fake and sometimes insensitive news about Mzansi celebrities. Nkosi says she is afraid this will get her in trouble with her industry colleagues. She says she once got a call from DJ Zinhle after the page had reported that she was closing her stores. "DJ Zinhle once called me, she was not angry but more surprised and taken aback by what was posted by the fake account, but after explaining we laughed about it," she adds. Nkosi says she wants to alert people to be aware that she is not behind the Facebook account that writes mean things about people. "I just want people to be aware and hopefully Facebook will help this time before it is too late, I don’t know what this person might do next, maybe ask people for money in my name," she said.
