Earlier this year, Generations: The Legacy brought back Karabo Moroka and Tau Mogale played by Connie Ferguson and Rapulana Seiphemo to make guest appearances to beef up their storyline and increase their viewership. Once again, the SABC 1 soap opera has brought in a top actor for viewership. Former The Estate actor Aubrey Pooe has joined the cast of the soapie and will make his first appearance next month.

HE WAS STRATEGICALLY LEFT OUT TO CREATE THE HYPE

It’s said that the producers left Pooe out when Ferguson and Seiphelo rejoined the soapie to create the hype to get more numbers. Currently, the producers are mum on the role Pooe will be playing. It’s said that he has already started shooting with the production. Ferguson and Seiphemo joined Generations a year after The Queen was discontinued on Mzansi Magic. Seiphemo’ last appearance in the soapie was in April when his character attended Mazwi Moroka’s (Musa Ngema) funeral with Karabo Moroka.

BOOSTING VIEWERSHIP

Pooe, who played the role of a politician Castro Kamanga on SABC 3’s telenovela The Estate, has also appeared on the now defunct Isidingo and Scandal. According to a source, producers are trying to boost their viewership by bringing the old cast and good actors onto the show. "They are trying to revive the show and also get more ratings," adds the source. Pooe could not deny nor confirm if he has joined the soapie. "People must just watch the show,”. Generations: The Legacy’s Chris Morris said they will release a statement in due course. â€?"We can’t confirm at this stage until a statement is issued,” said Morris.
