Earlier this year, Ukhozi FM radio presenter, DJ Sgqemeza announced that he had turned over a new leaf in his life and he was following Christ. He also said that although he had started preaching, he was still being trained to be a pastor. Recently, the Ukhozi FM breakfast show co-presenter confirmed that he has been ordained as a pastor.

LEAVING THE PAST BEHIND

Listeners favourite at Ukhozi FM, Sgqemeza, whose real name is Sipho Mbatha revealed that he had been studying to become a priest for the past few years and he has finally been ordained. Speaking to ZiMoja a few months ago, the radio personality said he had been a churchgoer for more than 15 years. He said he no longer drank alcohol or plays at nightclubs. "I have accepted Christ as my Lord and saviour, and I am proud to tell the world," he added.

HE REMAINS UNBOTHERED 

Sgqemeza's decision to become a priest has been met with mixed reactions from fans and followers. Some have expressed their support and admiration for him, while others have questioned why he would leave his successful career as a DJ to pursue this new path.
