The police in Nebo in Sekhukhune, Limpopo have arrested a 40-year-old man who has allegedly been terrorising foreign shop owners in the area. The man who has been wanted for some time was arrested on Thursday following an intelligence driven operation by the Provincial Tracking Team.
Limpopo police spokesperson Brigadier Hlulani Mashaba said the suspect was wanted on series of robberies in Nebo. "He was caught while driving in a white Ford Bantam motor vehicle heading to a liquor store to purchase liquor, upon searching the suspect, the police found in his possession a prohibited firearm a Cz 75 pistol 9mm with 09 live ammunition," Mashaba.
Mashaba also said that it is believed that the arrested suspect is the leader of the gang that is reported to be terrorizing the foreign national business owners within Nebo policing area. "The police are hard on the heels of the rest of the members of a gang believed to be accomplices to the arrested suspect in a series of crimes committed in Nebo policing precinct. The suspect is expected to appear before Nebo Magistrate's Court tomorrow.
