He does not hold back when it comes to speaking his mind. His no holds barred approach has in the past gotten him into trouble. Former Ukhozi FM broadcaster Ngizwe Mchunu was arrested in 2021 and accused of inciting violence linked to the unrest and breaching the Disaster Management Act. He was alleged to have incited violence during a briefing at a Bryanston hotel on 11 July, just days after former president Jacob Zuma was arrested and jailed for contempt of court. Not long after, he lashed out at President Cyril Ramaphosa and Eskom due to the loadshedding saga in South Africa. "Fuseg Eskom fuseg! Fuseg Ramaphosa fuseg!"

He has done it again, put his foot in his mouth, and called DJ Mthokozizi "Tira" Khathi a fraud and liar who is on drugs.

WEIGHING IN ON THE METRO FM AWARDS

Ngizwe first weighed in at the Metro FM Awards which took place at Mbombela stadium on 6 May. "The station used to be good until bad management took over. However, there was nothing that made me happier than seeing AKA’s daughter Kairo and the Forbes family accepting the awards. I didn’t know there were such humble coloured people. Even in the passing of their son who was a breadwinner," he says. He vented about how he refused to keep quiet about his tragic death. "AKA was one of the prominent artists of hip-hop. I have known the international stage since the age of 16 years. Who are you to tell me? Go to hell bastard," he growled. He congratulated AKA’s family and friends for taking his four trophies to his grave and said he expected the same from Durban DJ Tira, who buried his friend and former business partner Mandla "Mampntsha" Maphumulo, who died in December following a stroke.

CALLING OUT DJ TIRA

Ngizwe went on to say that he is also disappointed in DJ Tira for not living up to his promises. "Makhoya Bearings, I am highly disappointed in you. You and that piss-tasting drink of yours that you give us to drink," he says. "DJ Tira you are out of order, you were supposed to do what you promised Mampintsha at his funeral. You donated your Song Of The Year award to Mampintsha," he says. "DJ Tira, you are cruel. You should accept when you have failed. This thing of you taking drugs is affecting you. You were supposed to do what you said you would at Mampintsha’s funeral. But you have not because you are a dog. You have a case in heaven. You are full of rubbish. I am not afraid of you. You are bullshit." He went on to share their past experiences and history and says that the Sikilidi DJ is exploiting Mampintsha’s widow Babes Wodumo. DJ Tira refused to comment. "I don’t know what to say, honestly," he said.
