It looks like the tables have turned as Dr Nandipha Magudumana, who was always lovey dovey with one of her co-accused and lover Thabo Bester, ignored him when she walked into the dock at the Free State High Court today. Bester, Dr Nandipha and seven other accused appeared at the Free State High Court today in the matter of Bester's escape. Seated next to one of the accused Zanda Moyo, Bester kept grinding and smiling at Dr Nandipha as she walked in but the disgraced doctor walked by without looking at him and hugged her father who is also an accused in the matter. Dr Nandipha had claimed during her bid to be released that Bester forced her to go to Tanzania.

During the brief appearance, two lawyers representing accused number 8 Zanda Moyo who was Dr Nandipha's gardener and driver and accused 9, Teboho Lipholo who is a former employee of CCTV service provider withdrew from the case. The withdrawal forced the court to postpone the mater to 5 June 2024 for pre-trial hearing. The other accused in the matter are Dr Nandipha's father Zolile Sekeleni, former G4S employees Senohe Matsoara, Buti Masukela, Tieho Makhotsa and Frans Makhotsa.

Bester and his co-accused are facing charges that includes defeating the ends of justice, fraud, corruption, violating a corpse and arson. 

Bester is currently held at the C-Max section of Pretoria's Kgosi Mampuru Correctional Centre while his lover Dr Nandiphais currently being kept at the Bizzah Makhate Correctional Centre in Kroonstad in the Free State. The couple was arrested in Arusha in Tanzania in April of 2023 after they had been on a run for over month.
